I've Been Published!

My first byline has appeared on Burum Collective and I couldn't be happier! Now this happened back in December, and its now February, so you could be forgiven for asking "Why has it taken you so long to post a blog about it?" and you'd be right.

I shouted about the piece on my Social media accounts at the time, but never got around to doing a blog to cover it. I'll blame being busy with some work and with the Beer Prime podcast, which are culpable in part, but if I'm honest - it was pure forgetfulness!

So, with the Mea Culpa out of the way, let's get down to the piece itself. Titled "All Seasons Are Stout Seasons" it celebrates my love for the dark side of beer and focusses more specifically on Adjuncts. If you're not familiar with that word, it means "a thing added to something else as a supplementary rather than an essential part" - so as beer's four core ingredients are water, yeast, hops and malt, then an adjunct is anything else used - even other grains like wheat or oats.

If you fancy reading about these adjuncts and the opinion of a few top brewers who like to use them, then head over to the Burum Collective site - or click here to go straight to the article itself!

This is the first, for sure, but its the first of many. I have a fair few ideas tucked away and I am also working on a book. Next time I'm published, I won't leave it this long to crow on about it!
